Kabiyesi’s coronation on 8th October 2022 marked a divine continuation of Ilupeju’s rich cultural heritage. Bestowed with the Staff of Office by the then Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, ably represented by his late Deputy, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, Oba Akingbade’s reign over the past three years has been defined by grace, peace, visionary leadership, and remarkable progress.
Before his enthronement, Oba Akingbade dutifully served as Obanla to the first Apeju of Ilupeju-Ekiti, the late Oba Emmanuel Adeleye Oniyelu, during which he diligently learned the art of leadership. Today, the wisdom, patience, loyalty, and humility acquired during those years have become the hallmarks of his exemplary reign.
A man of deep spirituality and unwavering commitment to peace, the Apeju has consistently promoted culture, tradition, and unity, strengthening the bond among his people and positioning Ilupeju-Ekiti as a community of pride and promise. Under his watch, both investors and indigenes now look to Ilupeju with renewed confidence and optimism.
Indeed, when the chosen leads, the people rejoice and development thrives. Oba Akingbade’s leadership style anchored on humility, vision, and divine favour continues to drive progress and foster harmony in the land.
